My "Updated" Professional Story

On August 19, 2021 (and after 24 years), I departed from my position as a teacher in the School District of Philadelphia for the purpose of seeking out opportunities to serve in the State of New Jersey.  Since that time, I have served in the State of New Jersey as a substitute teacher (high school), a long-term substitute teacher (middle school), a full-time teacher of instrumental music (middle school), a full-time teacher of general and  instrumental music (high school), and a full-time teacher of general, instrumental, and vocal music (middle school).  In the Spring of 2024, I interviewed for a position with my currrent school district as a Music Content Area Professional Development Liaison as was selected to serve starting in September (2024).  Most recently, I was accepted into the Rowan University Masters of School Administration Program  (2024), and I am looking forward to completing the program, which will allow me to receive a New Jersey Principal Certificate of Eligibility.

Over the past 26 years, I have discovered, rediscovered, and cultivated a variety of skills, which distinguish me as a professional and are also aligned with who I am as a person.  These skills have certainly served me well in numerous professional contexts within the realm of education, and I believe my skills and experience make me an ideal candidate for pursuing  educational opportunities within New Jersey Public Schools.

During my professional career, I have continually dug  deep and reinvented myself at every turn in order to make my work relevant and fresh in a variety of settings.  My creativity, belief in my work, and vision for my professional future has allowed me to shape my professional path, and the energy, commitment, and dedication I bring to my work is without measure.

I am very excited about furthering the development of my career, and I thank you for viewing this information.
